I visited the campus October 2011 and was impressed with their diverse programs (not just engineering). RIT is located in Rochester, New York and the city is home to several higher ed institutions, Xerox Corporation and Eastman-Kodak. Transportation can be a convenient direct flight from many locations.
As the academic year quickly draws to a close, I am writing to inform you of an outstanding opportunity available this summer for students and their families at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.
RIT’s 23rd annual College & Careers program
is an exciting opportunity for your counselees who will be entering their senior year in the fall. Students who will be entering their junior year and are ready for an event of this kind are also welcome to attend. Students will explore academic and career options working with RIT students and faculty using our state-of-the-art facilities and technology. This will help students get a head start in making career choices for their future.
College & Careers is a two day program which begins on Friday and concludes mid-afternoon the following day. During the program, students will attend up to four academic workshops from a variety of majors including Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, Game Design & Development, Graphic Design, Marketing, Packaging Science, Photography, and many more. There are over 70 academic sessions from which to choose. Students are also invited to stay overnight on campus in one of our residence halls, and participate in a wide variety of fun activities.
The weekend also includes optional social and informational programs for parents/guardians. A social event is offered on Friday evening
. On Saturday, parents/guardians are invited to participate in presentations on Admissions and Financial Aid; campus tours are also available.

This program is offered two weekends this summer – July 19-20 and August 2-3, 2013. Over the past 22 years, more than 21,800 students have joined us at RIT’s College & Careers.
