At the University of Evansville, our core purpose is to provide students with life-transforming educational experiences that prepare them to engage the world as informed, ethical, and productive citizens. We’re committed to ensuring that students can afford a quality education that will lead to a quality life. To back this commitment, we guarantee the following:
Graduate in Four Years
We guarantee you will graduate in four years, or the fifth year is on us.
Our faculty members and advisors will work closely with you to help you stay on track. If you’ve followed the required academic plan and still cannot complete the course work required to graduate within four consecutive years of enrollment, we will provide up to one additional year of tuition free.
Engage with Talented and Dedicated Professors
We guarantee that you will be mentored by faculty fully committed to your success.
UE’s professors are committed to undergraduate teaching and have shaped an academic environment that is challenging and supportive. Two-thirds of our classes have fewer than 20 students, and a low 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio allows students to engage with professors in and out of the classroom to receive an individually tailored educational experience. According to the 2014 National Survey of Student Engagement, UE students report a level of student/faculty interaction significantly higher than peer universities in both U.S. News & World Report Midwest and Carnegie rankings.
Receive a Scholarship
We guarantee a scholarship to 100 percent of all full-time enrolled students entering as freshmen.
Every full-time enrolled student entering as a freshman will receive a scholarship at the University of Evansville. Merit-based scholarships for the incoming class of fall 2015 ranged from approximately $10,000 to full tuition.
Note: Students that are fully funded by a sponsor, organization, or government are exempt.
Get an Internship
We guarantee every student access to at least one internship and the opportunity for more.
At the University of Evansville, we’re committed to end-to-end career development, which includes the completion of internships and equivalent experiences through practicums, research, and more. In fact, 91 percent of the 2015 graduating class participated in one or more out-of-class, experiential activities. You will also have guaranteed access to career exploration advising before you arrive on campus as a freshman, and UE’s substantial network of alumni professionally mentor current students and graduates.
Any student unable to complete an internship or similar hands-on professional experience during their four years will continue to have post-graduate access to the full range of UE Career Development services. These services include the UE Connect alumni network, one-on-one career advising, and referrals to employers seeking interns. Additional services include access to UE JobLink, on-campus recruiting, graduate school assistance, résumé/cover letter help, mock interview practice, and an array of additional career support services.
Our record of success is proven year after year, with 92 to 94 percent of the graduating classes of 2012, 2013, and 2014 either employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation. Additionally, the median salary of those employed was $42,500.
We guarantee every student the opportunity to study abroad.
Our commitment to education abroad means that we encourage every student to study, intern, or engage experientially in an international setting. Programs abroad range from 10-day intensive to an entire academic year and include clinical placements, multi-disciplinary projects, an archaeological dig, and work in and out of the classroom at multiple sites. Notably, students will have the opportunity to study for a semester at Harlaxton College, the British Campus of the University of Evansville, ranked by BestCollegeReviews.org as the number one study abroad program of US colleges and universities. Your UE financial aid package “travels” with you for the Harlaxton semester, making it a cost-effective option. Curriculum offered at Harlaxton by our British and US faculty are UE courses, and will keep you on track for graduation in four years. If you follow the prescribed plan for your major and remain in good standing and are not able to incorporate a study abroad experience by the beginning of your senior year, we will offer a $1,000 travel grant to be applied toward a UE short-term study abroad experience, including the Harlaxton College 5-week summer session.
