Summer@Hampshire (MA) Pre-College Programs: Everything You Need to Know

Hampshire College is offering summer academic programs to talented and motivated high school juniors and seniors. Join us!

» Creative Media Viewfinders exposes students to a wide range of nonfiction and fiction film and video and asks them to create something every other day.

» Art and the Internet asks: How do we make meaning in the chaos of the internet?

» Gene Cloning is a biology laboratory-intensive boot camp.

» Young Feminist Collaborative is a collaboration between the Civil Liberties and Public Policy Program (CLPP) based at Hampshire College, and the Soapbox Feminist Camp. It mixes historical and political contexts of activism with exposure to real world careers in social justice and the non-profit sector.

» Blacksmithing, Bladesmithing, and Beyond introduces students to the world of metalworking with an emphasis on hot forging, casting, and manipulation. Students learn from historical and contemporary examples of this ancient art, and create new works.

» Micro-Controllers and Hardware Design will jump-start students in micro-controller software and hardware design, allowing them to create diverse projects.

» Hampshire College Summer Studies in Mathematics, now in its 44th year, is an intensive six-week encounter with college-level mathematics for talented and highly motivated high school students.

Pre-college participants live in the dorms, eat in the dining commons, and are immersed in rigorous and exciting fields of study.

All pre-college programs take place July 18 – 29, 2016.
