Crystal Murillo
Alumna Wins Council Seat
At just 23 years old, DU alum Crystal Murillo ’15 nabbed a seat on the Aurora City Council, beating out the incumbent and beating the odds as a progressive candidate for a historically conservative council. The daughter of Mexican immigrants, Crystal is the first in her family to graduate from high school and from college. At DU, she majored in Business Administration and is now an advancement fellow in the University’s Alumni Center.

Alpine Club
A Ticket to the Outdoors
The Alpine Club, DU’s largest and longest-running (90 years old!) student-run club, offers DU students a multitude of outdoor activities in and around Colorado—from beginner to advanced levels—at an affordable price. It’s the most popular club on campus. Students explore Colorado while rock climbing, horseback riding, white water rafting, snow shoeing, you name it. If it can be done outside, the Alpine Club has probably planned a trip for it.
